Barbara Bartlik, M.D. is a psychiatrist in private practice in Manhattan and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College. She has studied complementary treatment for mental and sexual health extensively and is certified by the American Board of Integrative Medicine. Dr. Bartlik incorporates vitamin and mineral supplements, dietary changes, and improved lifestyle practices with conventional psychiatric treatments, to bring about more effective outcomes for sexual and psychiatric problems. She is the chairperson for the Committee on Complementary and Integrative Medicine at the New York County Psychiatric Society.
Dr. Bartlik graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1981, completed psychiatry residency at NYU Medical Center in 1985, and received in-depth training in sex therapy with noted authority Helen Singer Kaplan. Dr. Bartlik also is an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at New York Presbyterian Hospital and she is a former investigator on pharmaceutical studies for female sexual dysfunction. She is the author of numerous scientific publications and the Medical Advisor for the book “Extraordinary Togetherness: A Woman's Guide to Love, Sex and Intimacy." She also co-edited the book "Integrative Sexual Medicine," a volume in the (Dr. Andrew) Weil's Integrative Health Library. Her current practice focuses on the integrative treatment of men, women, and couples with sexual dysfunction, as well as problems of a more general psychiatric and medical nature.
